IISCA Workshop by Dr. Jessica Slaton
This workshop will enable BCBAs to design and implement a practical functional assessment process using the Interview-Informed Synthesized Contingency Analysis (IISCA) to allow the development of effective treatment for problem behavior in a school setting.
Workshop Description:
Conducting a functional analysis (FA) is a critical component of designing effective treatment for problem behavior. The interview-informed synthesized contingency analysis (IISCA) is an FA format that is efficient, practical, and has been conducted a variety of settings. The IISCA can be conducted in 25 minutes or less and relies on capturing common scenarios that the individual experiences in their daily life, making it easier to conduct in natural settings. This 3-hour workshop will teach participants how to design and conduct IISCAs, including conducting a thorough clinical interview, designing the test and control conditions, assessing the outcome of the IISCA, problem-solving when faced with an undifferentiated IISCA, and understanding the current IISCA research.
