Staff Training Services


  • Comprehensive training for ABA technicians using a variety of mediums to convey information, including lecture, active responding, and hands on activities. Includes competency assessment to ensure that individuals are acquiring content and can apply it in a relevant way.

New Staff Orientation is a 12 hour course. Our orientation includes a pre-test and a post-test competency assessment.The competency test is scenario based (both video and written scenarios) in an effort to mimic real encounters staff will have when working with individuals.Course content available on request.

Principles of Behavior is a 6 hour course.This training includes competency assessment.The competency test is both short answer and scenario based.This training is an extension of our Orientation Training and provides a more in depth review of: functions of behavior; reinforcement; punishment; extinction; and, stimulus control and discrimination.

  • Program Implementation Training for staff working with specific students.This training is for staff members who have had some training in ABA Principles but require further training to successfully implement teaching and behavior management programming for specific students.Training will focus on each student's specific behavioral management protocol and teaching procedures for programs that are currently in the student’s IEP.Training occurs in the classroom for a minimum of three 2 hour sessions.
  • Topic Based Professional Development trainings for BCBA’s and other teaching staff.NLG is a BACB registered provider of CEU’s and can provide CEU certificates.Topics include NLG research on Functional Analysis and Stereotypy.A list of topics is available on request.
  • Parent Training.A modified version of our Principles of Behavior Training designed to help parents understand and support the teaching their children receive in School.The goal is to explain the basic principles and relate them to how parent actions can increase or reduce the future likelihood of behavior.Principles covered: functions of behavior; reinforcement; punishment; extinction; and, stimulus control and discrimination. Course consists of three 2 hour sessions.
